This policy describes what Out-Coached (the "app", "we", "us") collects when you play, and how that information is used. Out-Coached is a free-to-play prediction game with virtual credits only — we do not process real money, and we do not sell your personal information.
Information we collect
When you open the app, we automatically create an anonymous account identified by a random ID — no personal information is required to start playing. Specifically, we collect:
- Display name — whatever name you choose to enter for a game.
- Gameplay data — your picks, wagers, virtual credit balance, and prediction accuracy, scoped to the games you join.
- Google account information (optional) — if you choose to "Sign in with Google" to keep your identity across devices, we receive your Google account email address, display name, and profile picture from Google. This is entirely optional; the app works fully without it.
- Push notification registration (optional) — if you allow notifications, your device registers with Firebase Cloud Messaging to receive a ping when a game you've joined goes live. You can decline this permission and still play.
How we use this information
We use the information above solely to operate the game: tracking your picks and credit balance, displaying leaderboards, and letting you pick up your identity on a new device if you've linked a Google account. We do not sell or rent your information to third parties. Advertising in the free version is handled by Google AdMob, described below — we don't share your gameplay data with it.
Advertising
The free version of Out-Coached shows ads served by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads and prevent fraud, AdMob may collect information from your device including your advertising ID, IP address, and general (coarse) location, as described in Google's policy on data collected by its partners and the Google Privacy Policy. Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA and UK), you'll be asked for consent before personalized ads are shown, and you can decline. You can change or revoke that consent at any time via the "Privacy options" link on the app's join screen (shown in regions where consent applies). You can also reset or delete your device's advertising ID in Android's privacy settings.
Purchasing the one-time premium upgrade removes all ads from the app, and with them AdMob's data collection.
Where data is stored
Gameplay data is stored using Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions, and Firebase Authentication), operated by Google under its own data processing terms. Access is restricted by security rules so that only you can see your own account details, and only the game's backend can adjust credit balances.
Data retention and deletion
Gameplay data is retained for as long as a game remains active, plus a reasonable period afterward for dispute resolution and leaderboard history. If you'd like your data deleted, contact us using the details below and we'll remove your account records.
Children's privacy
Out-Coached is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
